Logistics is the flow of goods and services locally, nationally or internationally across road, rail, air or sea.
It is a global 24-7, 365 days a year industry, which supports all sectors.
Logistics has had the spotlight on it because of how significant it is to keep the country running, especially through times of crisis like the pandemic.
The industry employs over 50,000 locally. This is more than 10% of all jobs in Leicester and Leicestershire.
Logistics and Distribution is a future-proof career; as more and more people shop online, we need more people to deliver this increase in demand. This is predicted to be the top growing industry for the area over the next ten years; vacancies in warehousing, distribution and driving feature regularly in the top five most advertised roles. There’s lots of opportunity to get in and develop.
